Reach Home Safe

It is the concern of every mother, father and   brother that their daughter or sister reaches home safely every day from school, college or work. But the Concern remains merely a mental concern, as we are all helpless when we are faced with adverse situations where the concern takes a jump out of our conscience and turns to frustration and anger for being utterly helpless.

Its a truth in light of so many events that have happened so far where crimes of sexual abuse against children and women are on the rise and the bureaucracy , judiciary and the government is unable to do anything to save these vulnerable section of our society form the ghastly crimes perpetrated upon them.

Its a myth to believe in the police or judiciary both are least sensitive and least bothered about these issues and wait for the time these issues will subside so that they can carry on again with access of ease to other concerns of their private benefits rather than the people. The government waits upon the victims to either die or the issue to die out so that they can continue enjoying in the parliament.

In view of the above its nonsense to go on blaming and protesting against all these elements of the Constitution rather its need that the people alone should do something to save the women in the society so that they can feel safe and reach safe everyday. Its time we need some serious NGOs or Social Entrepreneurs in this regard who can come up with techniques and tools that can guarantee women s safety and even helps them to defend themselves.

If we are able to sensitize children in school, colleges and work places who can stand up for the women safety, they can help in guarding women if they come across or witness any crimes against them , even a change in the few may lead to remarkable sensitization that will flourish and people will be inspired even more to help the women. And in the meantime we can just protest for getting tough laws to protect women and help those victims to lead better life not as victims but as warriors.

Connecticut Kids : We Are Hopelessly Helpless !

The following poem i have written to dedicate to all the kids who were the most vulnerable victims of crimes across the world.

mumma i love you a lot

only you loved me i thought

i opened my eyes to see you

and to see this world all new

mumma I am growing up everyday

learning new words from you to say

that you love me and i love you so much

by letting me feel warm with your touch

mumma now take me to the school

My friends think of me so cool

i love to dance and eat and play

o i can make this world with my clay

mumma a man with a gun came

he was stupid with bad frame

he shot something at all of us

and we had red color upon us

mumma you do the best for me

and dont you worry nor miss me

am with my miss who loves me

is just lying beside me

mumma i wish you were there with me

or just that the mad man was never free

and that he never had a gun

to play with it or have  fun

mumma take care of you and my friends

make changes and some more amends

for i will come again to live life

only in a world of peace with no strife

My heart goes out for every kid and their parents who lost their lovely, sweet and innocent kids in the Connecticut school massacre. Again it makes me feel really helpless to see the vulnerability of kids who cannot protect themselves. They are easy victims and most vulnerable, which is why very often they are chosen to be the softest targets for the adults who take out their frustration, anger and hatred upon them.

My heart feels so heavy, when i get to hear,  read and see about such crimes inflicted upon kids. I feel the pain and agony inside me and feel more and more helpless every time on hearing  such painful events. I see, the parents of these kids having all their life in pain and loss, having lost kids at such a tender age where they had to see so much, had to do so much in life. There is nothing left a vacuum , an empty space and an echoing heart that wishes to see those kids alive.

I have taken this topic earlier too in my post (  https://thoughtsummary.wordpress.com/2012/12/10/are-we-really-helpless/ ) where i have discussed about the vulnerability of a child who cannot shield himself /herself from the adult world, and becomes an easy victim where they can barely understand about the events that goes around them.

I feel proud for being a teacher and for the teachers of the Connecticut school who put their lives to save the kids . They were the real responsible teachers as adults and their sacrifice leaves a message that it is the responsibility of the adult world to protect and safeguard the kids of the society, by making more stringent laws that must be enforced to maintain law and order for peace. Had it been for laws that could let only responsible citizens to be custodians of firearms, such incidents may not have happened.

There should be stricter rules for keeping guns under license and allotted to only people who really need to protect themselves on proving their need to the police and showing evidence , and not because they have an interest or hobby for collecting arms and weaponry to add on their walls .  Its not that the government cannot enforce such rules and regulations , it can do everything if it cares for the kids in society and it should do it, it had been high time ever since Columbine high school massacre.

What has happened has happened, but what we can do to protect the ones who are living, is of great concern and the society must involve themselves to think over these issues and come out with concrete solutions that can be implemented through higher authorities and law enforcing bodies.

I pray and wish heaven forbid such killings never happen and may god give courage and hope to the families to bear the  irreparable loss . God is keeping record of everything and will take care that justice prevails and may the beautiful kids reincarnate again on this earth to lead a prosperous and peaceful lives , in the mean time let’s pledge to make this world more safe for the innocence to bloom and foster.

Employee Rights: Are they Functional ?

The plight of a Genuine but Not powerful Employee ..

Only Requirement Works Here !

Now when you are out of your mother’s womb and away from your parents caresses and pamper, you must fend for yourself with available help that others have to offer in such times, and many times even alone. And when you are out to survive to earn your bread if not for yourself, you may do it for those who survive because of you.

So here begins the never ending road of survival full of struggles. I can barely accept a life minus troubles at any place home, neighborhood, society, roads, parking’s  malls, whoa and even the place where you work for a reason, the place where freedom exists in the Constitution but you may not have the same freedom as an Employee and to this day am genuinely unaware of an Employee Rights be it Government or Private sector, whcih ones are finctional and whcih ones are deni.

To forecast the future in an organisation is somewhat vague, you jump with joy on getting a job but realize it, after some days that this place or work is not meant for you and if at all, it is meant then it can only be occasioned best in two situations where, “you may like the job profile, but not the working conditions, or, you may like the working conditions but not the job profile”.

It may be rare to find sync with both the aspects.

Here the most significant factor that perturbs me to write an account on behalf of my colleagues and friends, to share their helplessness and what defunct s them, as they slog , unwillingly and unattended to their own cause. Its not about “Adjustment” at all , everyone does so unless their comes a point where they either have to “Bend or Break”.

I believe there’s more than what meets the eye, employees feel devoid of rights many a times, for n number of reasons, and prominently it has been Office Politics, favoritism, non observance of employee past or present records, unhealthy competition, lack of empathy, lack of cohesiveness among team members , negative behavior on part of Bosses , managers and even Human resource persons who lack practical application of those theoretical facts they have read all this time.

The most important in all this is the role of the HR manager who have an exit interview with the person who separates form the organization should be thoroughly questioned in a empathetic manner moreover it can be conducted by the third party, it would be more transparent and unbiased. As they they can evaluate the pros and cons of the organization as well along with the employees reasons for quitting. And such reports should be escalated to the Bosses who conclude it in an unbiased way and over finding no fault of the employee should try retaining the employee in the organization by making improvements.

Moreover i should not forget to mention about the “Contracts” having ridiculous clauses in them, which should be considered by some change makers who may work for creating better employee conditions to do away with unjustifiable clauses that may harm an employees legitimate rights as per constitutional rights.

Here i cannot refrain myself from putting a similar situation, justifiably in view of above mentioned reasons, which happened some time back : when i was taken by shocked, not at all intimated, never applied for and not even a single ground being mentioned as to why or for what reason i were transferred and felt disheartened and disoriented, as i had to give up on my kids with whom i had shared a bond that was about to go on for many more years to come and believed that i have been with these kids, taught them, loved them and shared the world with them, i got transferred to some other school. Am not happy with the system that does not realize the value of this nurtured and hard earned relationship of kids, a teacher secures, the rapport she shares, is hard to contrive. One doesn’t even come to know of their spouse in so many years, but here i had touched and nurtured 80 kids since beginning.

In the same way i can relate this  “officeisms” where my fiance was Overburdened and many a times taken away the responsibility he had in his previous job. the people who are up in the hierarchy at workplace hold power positions, and distinguish themselves in signatures that work for them. they actually work as per requirement, fitting the blocks in the board is what they care about, not to think beyond “Fitting” and “Requirement”.

Its a Pandora’s box, and none is keen to open this, the above situation is a fragment of the major portion of  problems that surrounds the system and structure in offices,

The problem becomes more insignificant when people do not stand for injustice nor complain, because employment is a need, and this need becomes helplessness and people take advantage of such helplessness where they keep throwing the pandemonium for employees in offices.

I hope that the system in every organisation changes for good, where there are rules books are followed and the employee rights are mentioned, through government policies which help the private and public sector employees to eliminate their helplessness and can work for choice and will.
